First Successful Hike - Roxborough State Park

Living as close as we do to the foothills, Red Rocks, and Roxborough State Park (to name a few), it would be a shame if we couldn't master a family outing on foot. Being as how there are now three kiddos and only two parents our hikes are limited to the stamina of the older kids. In this case 1.7 miles, zero elevation gain. The big kids were troopers although the last 1/2 mile was a little hairy with Mom exploring the extent of her kid songs to distract Hank the remainder of the trail.

As our children do not sleep in, we headed out with an early start.

Deer! Run for your lives - here come the Chatterton kids.

Cruising right along in the beginning.

Ella was really into "rock climbing" this trip.

Jack was not to be left out.
