Very Snowy Rockies Game

Well, in her true style; Mom hooked up the family with a very exciting outing...Coors Field on a Sunday for a Rockies game. Instant reminder, we live in Colorado and the game is in the Mile High City...and it is early April (Never mind the fact that it was pushing 80 degrees yesterday, these things are immaterial). Would the weather cooperate? Despite the forecast for snow, the game was not postponed early in the morning. So we filled the Landcruiser with several layers of "spring" clothing for the kids and headed in. After some shenanigans with our pre-paid parking, Dad dropped off the family and headed to park the car.

Upon arrival, Dad learned the family had already taken in batting practice (pictured below).

And also checked out our seats. It was a full house! Hank was the most excited at this point as you can see; though we were in the upper deck, perhaps Hank was just happier he was warmer than the players.

No sooner did we get the whole family together did the game officially receive the rain out announcement. Just prior Dad had scouted out places where the family could enjoy some good ball game fare. That did not exactly work out, as everyone was in the same boat, trying to stay warm before giving up and heading home. Luckily we spied a table that was opening up and shared a seat while downing some hot dogs.

A pretty big bite for a 4 year old...

Ella was brave enough to tough the walk back to the car. A month earlier it would have been deemed freezing rain, but this day it was just cold rain. Dad's shoulders did not quite provide the protection an umbrella would, but it kept things interesting. Then it was off towards home to warm everyone up...
