The Big Apple - Solo

So Mom headed to the Big Apple for a much needed break and to visit friends. Dad was on his own for four full days and three nights. Until this point Dad hasn't had both kids alone for more than a few hours so this was a brave undertaking.

Dad did very well, except a small preschool snafu (yes, you are supposed to wait to enter the classroom until exactly 9:30am.) Mom suspects a few baths were skipped and heard a story from Ella about Hank hitting his head on the chandelier? Dad stayed on his home turf all weekend, the temperature hovering around 10 degrees.

Mom had a great time in the big city. She walked all around the old haunts, attended an evening event at the Guggenheim, staying out until 2am - very feisty for a women that is six months preggo. Overall it was a great trip even if she had to dig her car out of the snow out at DIA, 11pm on Sunday night in 8 degree weather and drive home on icy roads. Pretty good for a Seattle girl!

Madison Park at night.
Big changes to Broadway since we left, it is now narrowed to one lane with seating areas.

Washington Park torn up for renovations.

6 East 10th Street - our first apartment in midst of renovation back to a single family brownstone.

Saks lit up at night - don't worry Mom didn't buy the $1000 shoes she was eyeing.
