We began another day on the beach, of course; it is a whopping 20' from the patio at the hotel room.

Ella's sand construction skills are improving. Despite some efforts she is not impressed by the sea shells Mom & Dad kept showing her. One did become a door on a sandcastle at least.

Ella seems to be growing up fast on this vacation.

After Hank's morning nap (which is like clockwork) we headed out to a place called the Bonnet House. It had positive reviews on Trip Advisor, mentioning gardens and monkeys. It turns out it was a getaway for an artist from Chicago who married some rather prominent and well
monied women. It actually turned out to be a guided tour of their residence and his studio, and not surprisingly ours were the only children. After 20 minutes of the tour we peeled off and began our self guided portion.
We did manage to see the monkeys (they escaped from a bar years before and inhabit the grounds) and saw a number of lizards. It was a nice little outing, but not really appropriate for our little family at the moment. We did find the old antique car in the garage and the 1930's tractor, which was a hit.

It was getting warm and the men were getting a little restless...but it was still all smiles!

After the Bonnet House we headed into to Fort
Lauderdale for some top notch BBQ. The joint is called Tom Jenkins, was order at the counter and eat at picnic tables indoors. You could smell the aroma at least a block away and it was well worth the drive. The kids were not really into the food, but were in rare form clowning around.

Hank is big on the open mouth kisses these days while Ella is big on the hugs. This went on for at least 5 minutes and while it was very amusing to us was completely ignored by all the other patrons gorging themselves on ribs & etc.

After another failed attempt at naps (0 for 2 now), we headed out to the pool.

Hank's square & pudgy little feet, document for posterity's sake!

Starting to officially relax.

Dad's afternoon view, poolside, while checking emails for work, not too shabby.
