Hank's birthday brought our second straight day of napping...a second win for Mom & Dad. We relaxed our our little patio for the two hours of quiet.

While it wasn't a birthday extravaganza, one of Hank's presents made the journey to Florida. After a brief foray into gift wrapping, Ella presented a present to Hank (picked out by her on a recent trip to Target with Mom, another interesting story but I digress).

It took a few minutes and some help from Ella...

...then Hank got things going.

Success!

The decision was made to attempt a nice dinner, we thought
Benihana would be a good outing. Much to our chagrin the
tableside cooking was not of much interest. We did luck out in our table placement, in the corner!
Mom's planning paid off as usual and the banana kept the peace as the show was starting.

Dad did his best to get Ella involved in the action...while Mom kept the little man occupied. Eventually we gave in and landed the kids in the corner for the rest of dinner. This might work in future years, but we're not there yet.

After dinner we headed back to the hotel. On Friday nights in
Lauderdale by Sea they close down the street and bring in live music for a street dance. There was a jazz band and our little girl got to dancing. Initially alone, then with Mom, and finally with another little girl; Ella served as the opening act to liven up the scene for the adults.
