Early Morning Beach, Evening Pool

So in the previous post our morning outing to the beach was mentioned...as well as our planned pool extravaganza.

Hank found the sand interesting and was not too put off by the waves, he was his usual calm self.

It was time to learn how to build sand structures, Dad was not sure we were going to hit castle status right out the gate.

A little nervous with the waves...but still having fun.

There was some bird chasing as well as cajoling Dad into getting pails of water back to the palm tree for sand castle construction.

Mother and son seem to be enjoying themselves just fine so far.

Not quite sure if he likes the waves, still working out the details.

After giving up on naps...we headed out to the pool. Mom and the kids relax in the shade with some drinks!

Though Dad is not a strong swimmer (insert Mom's raised eyebrow), the swim lessons at the rec center paid off as everyone was able to have fun in the pool. Dad and Hank in the action shot here, Ella had her little life vest and was somewhat self sufficient.

Not surprisingly there was quite a bit of horseplay!

Not pictured for all of our sake...Dad on a pink raft at Ella's request. It was not a pretty picture for several reasons. Mom was amused.
