Happy Halloween

Despite the snow on the ground, the weather improved for trick-or-treating! It was warm enough for everyone to venture out without coats, a good thing for the costumes.

Mom did quite a bit of work to make sure the costumes were well assembled...including the addition of new toys for Ella (a good excuse especially considering all the talk about birthdays of late). So we had a well equipped little construction worker, no gender barriers here!

With several hours of effort, the stroller was transformed into a tractor! Slap on some overalls and we've got a full fledged farmer! And no farmer is complete without a Nebraska hat!

Combining the toolbox and the stroller we can haul a lot of loot!

We all headed over to Michaela & Bill's house for some group trick-or-treating in the Ranch. There was chili and refreshing beverages for the adults and plenty of porch lights on up the block for the kids. Dads (and a grandpa) headed up the block with a troop of little girls while the ladies stayed behind to distribute candy (Hank being the only boy and the youngest hung with the women). Ella was the first to peel off from the group and head back; in the cost benefit analysis of candy versus warmth, candy lost.
