Fort Lauderdale Here We Come!!

After a couple busy weeks, and staring down an extremely busy November and December; a vacation was not only in order, but necessary to maintain sanity. Mom did all the groundwork (as usual) on the web, frequent flyer miles were cashed in, and we were officially off!

During the packing extravaganza Ella make herself useful...old enough to have her own seat these days, perhaps the bag check fee is the more economical option? Just kidding of course, she wouldn't go up the stairs in the suitcase (it was discussed).

After a connection through Atlanta, the kids were more than enthused to have some room to run around at last. In typical fashion, the kids were angels about 98% of the time, even squeezing in naps.

Mom scored with a find in Lauderdale by Sea, a town of several blocks as you guessed it, right outside Ft. Lauderdale. The hotel was a small family run joint, a stones throw from the fishing pier and more importantly right on the beach. It also came equipped with a kitchen, crucial for the munchkins.

After dropping the bags we set out to explore Lauderdale by Sea, it's not too large but has a nice walkable core. There are a several restaurants on the main drag. We headed out for a family dinner, unsure of the wisdom but quite hungry. The kids behaved for the most part, but towards the end all bets were off. For the sake of those around us, Mom scuttled out the door while Dad ponied up for the tab.

A pack-and-play for the little man, Ella scored the foldout couch, all in the same room with Mom and Dad! A separate bedroom would have been ideal, but we'll see how this works...everything else is perfect.
