The Magic of Staging

Unbeknownst to Mom and Dad moving is a LOT of work and a long process! Making the decision to move was the easy part, there are a lot of things that have to happen before we can actually move. Considering we are trying to sell a condo in a down real estate market only adds to the challenges.

We chose the real estate team of Ricklee and Ron, a flamboyant team that offered more service than our other alternatives. When we first met with our agents we could see they were not impressed with the Babies R Us explosion that our house has somehow become. They were very honest they weren't sure they could sell our place, regardless of the price, the condo market is just that bad. Next we met with a stager who told us what needed to go, what we needed to buy and lent us a few accessories. So Mom and Dad filled yet another storage unit with furniture, toys and "stuff." Mom went shopping for accessories, apparently she is a bit color averse - everything we own being brown, black or beige. Apparently you are supposed to have pictures in your bathroom? Who knew?

About the time we were done staging and went on the market Dad left for Denver. He will be commuting back and forth until the house sells or Mom goes crazy, whichever happens first.

Before pictures (Mom remembers thinking the house was reasonably clean)

After - Does anyone really live like this?
