First Camping Trip

Ella's first camping trip was a success! Friday afternoon we headed East to Salmon La Sac campground near Lake Cle Elum. On the trip out Dad sent a yearning look towards The Brick, an old tavern many a camping trip has ended with.

We arrived at the campsite Friday evening and set up camp. Ella was a little freaked out about the tent but soon recovered. Quick dinner and Mom and Dad tried to get the munchkin to sleep so they could hang out by the campfire, drinking a few beers and eating smores. Ella had other ideas. Two hours later Ella was still crawling around the tent exploring Mom and Dad gave up and called it a night. Ella finally passed out around 10pm and spent the whole night rolling around the tent in her sleep, mom chasing her with a blanket.

True to form Ella awoke Saturday morning at the crack of dawn. Dad cooked us a gourmet breakfast and we went for a small hike along the river while Ella caught up on her sleep on Dad's back. Mom and Dad were both severely munched on by the mosquitoes but Ella was immune, most likely because bananas is one of only three foods she likes to eat.

Overall the trip was a success. When Mom asked Dad if he wanted to go camping again next weekend he replied, "It sounds like a lot of work."

Things have definitely changed.
