Ella's First Recital

Today was Ella's first ballet recital. Every Friday for sixteen weeks she has been attending ballet classes. She seems to be enjoying it although sometimes it is hard to tell. In class she is either very focused intently watching the teacher or totally over it staring out the window.

Mom wasn't quite sure how this was going to go. Since parents aren't allowed in the studio during class, Mom didn't know anything specific about the recital until yesterday when Ms. Jill handed out the costumes and told us when to show up. Your control freak mother said "Yikes".

Finally everyone was up, dressed and loaded in the car headed to the auditorium. Mom got you checked into the waiting room although Jack managed to rip a leaf off your hairpiece in the process.

Ella's dance was twelfth of fifteen. The theme of the show was Jungle Dance. Mom told Dad she was very glad you were doing a princess dance that she would be pissed to spend sixteen weeks watching you to end up doing an "Ants in Your Pants" dance.

It was finally showtime. Ella walked out and stepped on her mark and did a wonderful job with her dance. Mom and Dad were very excited for her, proud and little emotional.
