Last Day of Preschool
Today was our last day of preschool for the year.
Since January Mom and Ella have part of a cooperative preschool program. Once a week we have been going to class from 1-3pm on Tuesdays. Terrible timing that falls directly during naptime. Because it is an infant program the age range of the kids is 4 months - 18 months, Ella's December birthday falling on the upper part of the spectrum.
The best thing to say is that Ella humors Mom about the class. For the first 20 minutes of class she walks around and plays with all the toys. She goes down the slide, checks out all the baby rattles and hordes all the poppers from the other kids.
Next is circle time where we sit and sing songs for 20 minutes. Ella's attention span is about 5 minutes, the other 15 minutes she wanders around the room hopefully not stepping on too many of the other babies.
She does come to attention during her favorite song "Bumpin Up and Down on My Little Red Wagon." A song mom is requested to sing at least 10 times a day. (Ella - I'll be sure to teach it to your kids someday so you can share in the pain!)
Circle time - parachute and shakers are always a hit.
After this is snack time, Ella's favorite. It is a race between the babies to see who can eat the most organic O's in the shortest amount of time. The smaller babies O's are always fair game for the big kids.
At this point we have an hour left in class and Ella is ready to go. Ella is very subtle about this, she marches over to the baby gate, grabs the bars and violently shakes the gate screaming "Bye, Bye, Bye" at the top of her lungs.
Hmmm .... wonder where the impatience comes from?
Can we go now?
