May Day

For all the folks in Nebraska, Enumclaw, or outside any major metropolitan area; this May Day was the second annual immigration protest. As with many major protest marches in the Big Apple, this one proceeded from Union Square down Broadway, right past our apartment. As things began, Ella was quite enthralled with the bull horns, colorful flags, and chanting. However things got a bit out of hand as the police tried to make an arrest. Tensions rose for a while, but the NYPD ultimately diffused the situation. Here was the view from Ella's window (we're on the eighth floor so no need to worry):

It was all quite tiring for Ella. She gave up on the entertainment (apparently once it appeared a riot was not imminent) and fell asleep.

No kidding, this is the marching band (among other things) that Ella slept through.
