Visitors From the Windy City
This week Mark and Carla came to visit Ella from Chicago.
We took Ella to the Top of the Rock at Rockefeller Center (her highest point to date, around 70 stories up). Conincidentally, dad pointed out Ella rode her fastest and fanciest elevator to date (though unfortunately it was not an Otis elevator.) It was a bit hard to get the baby & stroller into the picture.Ella had her first shopping expedition to Century 21 (Mom & Carla inspired) and spent some time at the pier at South Street Seaport (Dad & Mark inspired). Unfortunately, Mom forgot to feed Ella before we left the outdoor cafe at the pier (60 degrees in March in NYC?) and there was a small meltdown on the way home. We ducked into a French brasserie to feed. Mom had a fun experience changing a very pooey diaper in a small basement bathroom (typical Manhattan)stall unequipped for munchkins. The creative utilization of the stall, the toilet seat, and some yoga experience resulted in a clean diaper and a happy baby.
Ella also made her first trip to one of our favorite restaurants in New York, Rosa Mexicana. Of course she was a complete angel as the waitress commented. Auntie Kristi watched Ella on the last night and we went to Artisinal for dinner, Mark & Dad attempting to eat their weight in cheese.
It was a great and action packed weekend. PS, Ella is becoming a regular on the subway.
