One Month Old - Still Alive & Kicking
Today Ella is 1 Month Old.
This is a time to reflect on all the things Mom hopes you don't remember from your first month.
- That you now almost sleep through the night but Mom still bothers you 5-6 times to check that you are still breathing and not too cold.
- Your excessive exposure to television, CSI:Miami marathons in particular, hopefully you do not develop a liking to David Caruso type men.
- All the times Mom pretended not to notice you had a pooey diaper, knowing Dad was on the way home.
- The first 2 weeks of your life during which you only had 3 baths because mom was too tired to take on the stressful ordeal, until Auntie Cary pointed out you may become the stinky baby of the class if Mom didn't get her stuff together.
- That you have only had tummy time a couple of times because it makes you cry and Mom can't stand to hear you cry.
- Your first Dr's appt during which Mom learned she was supposed to be picking out your boogers and you could hardly breathe, sorry hon.
- The evening Dad was out and mom pumped and fed you a bottle while drinking a beer.
- All the times Mom pretended not to see you pee in your bath, too tired to rerun the bath water.
- That Mom and Dad giggle every time you take a poo, sounding like you have sat on a whoopee cushion, a satisfied smile afterward.
- This moment below during your fussy time when Dad was away, not one of Mom's better parenting moments, at least you are watching Jeopardy.
