We Broke our Baby .....

Ella gave Mom and Dad quite a scare tonight.

When Mom changed her diaper she noticed some dried blood on her umbilical cord, Mom cleaned it up and put back on her diaper. That evening Ella was extremely fussy, very unlike her, normally so good natured and quiet.

Later that evening when Dad went to change Ella's diaper, he discovered her umbilical cord had fallen off and had been poking her all evening long. Not only that, it bled quite a bit; she had a big blood stain on her undershirt.

Mom almost threw up. It was her first brush with Mommy guilt, she should have known something was wrong.

Mom and Dad consulted the baby book that said it wasn't supposed to fall off until 2-3 weeks.
