A Manhattan Holiday Weekend (Part 1)
Well, summer has come to NYC. Many New Yorkers head out of the city on Memorial Day, but we decided to ride the long weekend out in the city. Friday was warm and the forecast for Saturday predicted another relative scorcher. We got an early start to beat the heat. A stroll down to Soho to hit Bloomingdale's kicked off the day. En route, we stopped and grabbed a light lunch.

Ella seems to have a streak of her dad's aversion to heat, so we decided on a trip to the museum. The Metropolitan Museum had recently reopened its Greek and Roman wing, in addition to the many masterpieces in the Met's collection. There's too much to see in one day at the Met, so Ella visited the new wing as well as the 19th Century European wing. If she grows to have a soft spot for the impressionists we'll know where it started.
We all stopped for a snack in the cafe on the balcony of the Great Hall
After an afternoon at the Met we took a stroll through Central Park
