Double Trouble

Recently there has been a shift in the family dynamic.  Hank is no longer a newborn but now a little man and member of the family.   He and Ella have teamed up usually against Mom but occasionally against Dad as well.  They are joined at the hip and often seem lost without each other. While Ella is napping Hank is looking around for her and lights up and dances when she walks back into the room.  Similarly when Ella is away from Hank she spends the whole time asking about him.  Where is he? What is he doing? Does he have his blanket?

Whenever we talk about her friends' siblings Ella's response is always "and I have Baby Hank." During diaper changes she fetches the clean diapers, changing mat, wipes and whatever cream or powder she feels is necessary at the time.  She is always the first to hear Hank when he wakes from his nap and races into say hi and turn on his mobile.

Things are not always rosy as there is still jealously surrounding toys resulting in many timeouts.  In toddler speak no toy is ever fun until someone else is playing with it.  Poor Hank has most of his toys swiped away but no worries - his most favorite toy is his sister.

Playing "People" - Ella has an impressive assortment of Little People.  She and Dad spend many hours lining them up and making up ethnically appropriate names for them.

Clowning around on Hank's blanket.

Time for bed.

Willing to share some things...
